The New Zealand Pavilion at Expo2020, Dubai will provide a platform to connect New Zealand businesses with new, emerging and fast-growing economies and tell our country’s story to Expo visitors on the world stage. The Pavilion experience will build on an international reputation for authentic hospitality to guests and will operate under the theme “Care for People and Place”. The pavilion features an exhibition experience, corporate hosting facilities and a restaurant.

Role:

Reporting to the Pavilion Guest Experience Supervisor, Pavilion Guest Experience Ambassadors will work together to engage with visitors through all aspects of the guest journey; from the waiting/queue space, through the various Pavilion experiences, to the Farewell Space. Your interactions will leave a positive and lasting impression on all pavilion visitors, including through the Expo2020 schools’ programme and by supporting regular high level and VIP visits.

You will be able to converse with visitors about New Zealand what New Zealand has to offer across cultural, business and tourism sectors. You will have or be able to develop a good understanding of the connectivity services available and be able to direct visitors to the relevant people or services through the Pavilion’s Digital Experience.

Successful applicants will be team players, have excellent communications and interpersonal skills and a strong track record in delivering high quality customer service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing a first-class visitor experience to all visitors to the New Zealand pavilion, including visiting delegations.
  • Managing the flow of visitors to and through the New Zealand pavilion; including guiding and accompanying visitors through the exhibition and multi-purpose space as appropriate.
  • Supporting the organisation and delivery of events at the New Zealand pavilion and across the Expo site, include cultural, economic, scientific, educational, sporting and social events; including providing entertainment as appropriate.
  • Supporting the organisation and delivery of the Expo2020 Schools’ Programme, by delivering workshops and educational activities to school groups of different ages at the New Zealand pavilion.
  • Providing hospitality to invited guests, including VIP, government officials and other delegations.
  • General administrative and operational duties as instructed by the Host Supervisor.

Experience, Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Fluent English; knowledge of Arabic and other languages an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of New Zealand, New Zealand culture and environment and a willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to use initiative when required
  • Ability to successfully manage a range of different work activities at the same time and prioritise when required.
  • Candidates should be suited to public engagement and interaction. Previous experience in customer service; retail; hospitality; events management; tour guiding; or similar roles an advantage.
  • Experience of working with children or young people is an advantage.
